About
Øyvind Renberg (born 1976 in Oslo, lives in Berlin) is an artist whose work explores how we think in stories. Using drawing, watercolor, sculpture, and film, he treats each piece as a timeline connecting memories, present moments, and fantasies. Often autobiographical, Renberg explores how different layers of history can exist at once, drawing inspiration from unique graphic storytelling forms like Mayan folding books and Japanese picture scrolls.
Graduating with a BA Fine Arts from Goldsmiths College, London, his work has been exhibited and commissioned by: Friends With Books Art Book Fair (DE), New York Department of Transportation (USA), Arnolfini Gallery (UK), Hordaland Kunstsenter (NO), Art Center Ongoing (JP), Ssamziespace (KR), Wysingarts (UK), UKS (NO), Ssamziespace (KR) and Iniva (UK).
