About

Øyvind Renberg (1976) is an artist born in Oslo, living in Berlin. His work explores the way we think in stories. Whether in drawing, watercolor, sculpture or film, he approaches the work as a timeline that stretches between memories of the past and dreams of the future, across the situation right now. While often autobiographical, Renberg is interested in how multiple layers of history can exist simultaneously, inspired by distinctive graphic storytelling forms, such as Mayan folding books and Japanese picture scrolls.

Graduating with a BA Fine Arts from Goldsmiths College, London, his projects have been exhibited and commissioned by: Friends With Books Art Book Fair (DE), New York Department of Transportation (USA), Arnolfini Gallery (UK), Hordaland Kunstsenter (NO), Art Center Ongoing (JP), Ssamziespace (KR), Wysingarts (UK), UKS (NO), Ssamziespace (KR) and Iniva (UK).
